What is the difference between a Venue and a Space?
On VenueNow, a venue is one physical location (e.g. “VN Hotel Sydney”) and a space is an individual event area within that venue (e.g. “Rooftop Deck Function Space”). Venues can have multiple spaces, and customers search and compare these individual spaces—not the overall venue—when planning events.
Because many of our Venue Partners own more than one property, it’s helpful to use clear, consistent definitions.
A venue is defined as a single physical address that may contain multiple event spaces. For example, “VN Hotel Sydney” is considered one venue.
A space is an individual room or area within that venue where an event can be held, such as “Rooftop Deck Function Space.” A single venue can include many different spaces, each with its own characteristics, capacities, and uses.
This structure allows our Partners to:
-
List as many spaces as they need under one venue address, and
-
Highlight and market each unique space in the most effective way.
When customers search on the VenueNow platform, they are searching for spaces, not venues. This means each space listing is what appears in search results and is what customers evaluate and compare when planning their events.
